Over the years I have been blessed to photograph some amazing families. And as it turns out, this is kind of two families in one. The Chastain family and the Bones family. I’ve been photographing Chris, Carrie, Tripp and Quinn since Tripp and Quinn were born. They are the sweetest, most fun family you could ever hope to photograph. Both kids have a sense of style all their own. When Tripp was only a couple of years old he had these green rain boots and they were going to be in his photos whether we wanted them in it or not. Never mind it was summer and his poor little feet had to be sweating like crazy. Quinn is wise beyond her years and sees the beauty in all things. Most especially her Bones family. Forget American Girl dolls with matching clothes. Quinn has a family of skeletons in her closet and she’s happy to introduce you to all of them. They have even made appearances in family photos and had a family photo of their own with Santa and Mrs Claus. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Tripps trusty companion Jake who was with their family for far too short of a time but sent another 4 legged angel to watch over Tripp in his place. I did not realize until I was gathering images for this post that I have several very similar images of Tripp with his favorite dogs over the years.
I would be hard pressed to choose just one favorite session with this family. Each time we get together a new piece of magic happens. However, the Christmas meltdown holds a special place in my heart. The best part? It was Carrie’s favorite and landed in a lot of mailboxes that year on their Christmas cards. And then there’s the session where Tripp decided I needed a break and he sat in my lap. I just love him!
Quinn is also a fantastic window designer. She loaned me some of her Bones family members for a window display contest and even came to help me set up. I loved watching her mind work as she placed each skeleton right where it needed to be.
Most recently I was able to capture Quinn as one of her favorite characters. I think you’ll agree, she nailed it as Quinnesday!
I can hardly wait to see what’s next for the Chastains and the Bones. It has been an honor to preserve these priceless memories!
